VitalForge respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the VitalForge web app or install it from Google Play.

1. Information We Collect

a. Personal Information

• Email address (only if you create a Pro account)
• Name (optional, only if you provide it)

b. Usage Information

• Workouts, nutrition logs, and wellness data you enter
• Device information (browser type, operating system, device model)
• App usage data (pages visited, session duration, feature interactions)
• Anonymous behavioral analytics events (e.g. feature taps, funnel steps) used to improve the app — no personal identifiers attached

c. Camera and Microphone Data

Used only for user-initiated actions (barcode scanning, photo meal scanning, voice journaling). Processed ephemerally:

• Photos: Used for meal scanning. Not stored permanently.
• Voice recordings: Converted to text via OpenAI GPT-4o-mini. Raw audio not retained. Not used for model training.
• Fitness data: Effort Scores and activity data used to provide personalized insights.

These features require your explicit permission and are entirely optional.

d. Location Data (GPS Mission Mode)

Location data is collected only during active Mission Mode sessions you explicitly start. GPS coordinates and distance are stored locally on your device (and in cloud if you have Pro). We do NOT sell, share, or use location data for advertising. Location access is optional.

e. Push Notifications

If you subscribe, we store an anonymous VAPID-based device subscription token to deliver reminders and milestone notifications. Revoke anytime from your device or browser settings.

f. Payment Information

• Stripe processes web payments for Pro upgrades
• Google Play Billing processes Android app payments
• We do not store credit card details
• Purchase conversion events may be reported to Google Ads for campaign measurement

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide and improve the app experience
• Personalize AI recommendations for workouts, nutrition, and wellness
• Process payments for Pro features
• Communicate important updates (account or payment notifications)

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your data. We share with:

• Stripe — payment processing (web)
• Google Play Billing — payment processing (Android)
• Resend — transactional email delivery (verification, welcome emails)
• OpenAI — AI analysis of journal, meal, and workout data. Processed ephemerally. Not used for training.
• Google Ads — anonymous purchase conversion events for ad measurement only
• Legal obligations — if required by law or to protect rights and safety

4. Your Rights (GDPR / EU)

• Access your data
• Correct or update your data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent for processing

5. Cookies and Local Storage

VitalForge uses cookies and localStorage to remember your session or login, store preferences, and improve performance. You can disable cookies via your browser, but some features may not work properly.

6. Security

• HTTPS for all connections
• Encrypted storage of personal data in our database
• Secure authentication for Pro accounts

7. Children's Privacy

VitalForge is intended for users 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
